Our staff of professional appraisers, conservators and researchers primarily address consultation and appraisal needs. We are not a retailer, nor do we perform auctions. Yet we can serve as a client advocate in cases of liquidation, acting as a liaison between our clients and prospective auction houses, galleries, and private collectors. To remain true to the code of ethics set forth by the International Society of Appraisers, we do not buy items that we appraise. We can, however, for certain items extend consignment opportunities to those who wish to sell personal property through MIR Appraisal Services, Inc., charging the standard 20% commission of the total sale amount, or $150, whichever is greater, in addition to all previous research fees.
